    In 1993 after the Options for Change force reductions, the 1st Armoured Division was disbanded, becoming HQ Lower Saxony District. Before the initial Army 2020 reforms, the regiment was the divisional support signals regiment that supported and helped the communications for the entire 1st (UK) Armoured Division.
